Advanced Gimbal Calibration
PreFlight now includes Advanced Gimbal Calibration.
This is not the standard gimbal calibration available in DJI Fly.
Advanced Gimbal Calibration performs a much deeper recalibration of the gimbal and is particularly useful for one of the most annoying gimbal problems: a tilted horizon.
If the camera no longer sits perfectly level, the result is obvious in every shot. A normal calibration does not always correct it.
Advanced Gimbal Calibration recalibrates the gimbal across all axes, including the minimum and maximum movement endpoints.
During the process it also works through the full movement range of the gimbal, which can improve and smoothen movement across the different axes.
It also performs a gimbal IMU calibration.
The gimbal IMU is separate from the aircraft IMU and normally isn't something the user can recalibrate through DJI Fly. Until now, this level of calibration has effectively been something only DJI could perform.
PreFlight can now do it directly.
What it recalibrates
-
Gimbal roll, pitch and yaw
-
Minimum and maximum endpoints on each axis
-
Movement across the full gimbal range
-
Gimbal IMU
-
Horizon alignment
For users dealing with a tilted horizon, uneven gimbal movement or a gimbal that simply no longer behaves as precisely as it should, Advanced Gimbal Calibration gives PreFlight access to calibration functions normally unavailable to the user.
