We are pleased to announce the release of PreFlight version 2.1.0.9, introducing two new aircraft recovery functions: ESC Reset and Obstacle Recovery.
This update also resolves a potential license activation and verification issue that some users may have experienced.
All users must update to PreFlight to version 2.1.0.9!
New Feature: ESC Reset
ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) errors can sometimes occur following a crash, an aircraft repair, or an abnormal electrical condition.
In certain cases, an ESC-related fault or protection state may remain even after the original problem has been resolved.
The new ESC Reset function provides a dedicated recovery procedure directly within PreFlight, designed to help clear certain ESC-related fault conditions and potentially restore normal operation.
This can be particularly useful when an aircraft continues reporting an ESC error following repairs.
Important: ESC Reset cannot repair physically damaged motors, ESC electronics, or wiring. Any underlying hardware fault must still be addressed. Restart the aircraft after recovery and verify that the error has cleared before attempting to fly.
New Feature: Obstacle Recovery
Have you ever repaired an aircraft only to discover that its obstacle avoidance system can no longer be enabled?
The new Obstacle Recovery function is designed specifically for situations where visual obstacle avoidance remains unavailable following aircraft repairs.
It sends a dedicated recovery sequence intended to restore the system's ability to operate normally.
After running Obstacle Recovery, restart the aircraft and check whether obstacle avoidance can be enabled again.
Important: This is a recovery function, not a general vision sensor calibration tool. It cannot repair defective or damaged sensors, and successful execution does not guarantee that the underlying problem has been resolved.
License Activation & Verification Fix
We have also addressed a potential certificate-related connection issue that may have affected license activation or verification for some users.
This issue has been resolved in version 2.1.0.9
Availability & Licensing
Both new recovery functions are available through the Aircraft Tools section of PreFlight.
ESC Reset and Obstacle Recovery require a full PreFlight license. Users with a free trial license will be directed to the license activation screen when selecting either function.
Important: Everyone Need To Update!
Every PreFlight user must update to version 2.1.0.9 as soon as possible.
This release delivers important improvements and fixes that makes for a new eara of the PreFlight app.
