PLEASE FOR THE SANITY OF YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS update and revise this guide to include the newest and simplest methods! In order that is simple to follow step by step. It is SO HARD to follow this guide as things are worded strangely, sometimes misspelled or misworded which makes it literally impossible to follow step by step.. it's like trying to decode what you are trying to say at times. For example, getting the Google maps to work on the latest patched app, you say "create a FILE named usegooglemaps. HOW DO YOU CREATE A FILE?! WHAT KIND OF FILE? do you mean folder? And if so WHAT FILE do I put in the folder?! If I told you to CREATE A FILE and name it something, would you have ANY clue what that actually meant? There are so many kinds of "files" if I was told what kind of file, maybe I would have somewhere to start in figuring out what you're trying to say but you just say create a file. I'm soooo confused, and by NO MEANS am I new to computers. Very well trained. Enough to know that you cannot simply be told to create a file, without being told what kind of file, and proceed successfully. And after reading the overall guide following step by step as much as possible, I somehow find a newer updated version of certain steps somewhere else on the website scattered into places that you would never expect to look and I can't tell what's new and what's old

Creating a file is like creating a place-marker with a name. The type of file is only defined by its contents. A typical Unix command would be "touch xyz" which would create a file called "xyz" with no contents.

So, using a Windows box you can browse to a directory, right-click and choose "new text document" and edit the resulting file name to make sure it doesn't retain the ".txt" extension. Windows will warn about this, just click "Yes".

When you need to add content (and in this case it would be ASCII text), double click on the file and then select the program you want to use to open it (e.g. Notepad).

Hello,

This entire process is in desperate need of an overhaul!

After spending $55 on firmware for the Mavic 2 Pro, I am no closer to removing the NFZ than I was once I bought my drone.

I have been patient, thoroughly read the instruction manual, yet my drone is stuck at the 15% mark once the "Flashing" has started.

I've let it sit for over 10 minutes, I have disconnected the drone as per the instructions, I have made sure that "Run As Administrator" are selected -- and nothing.

PLEASE, fix this. Please.

Thanks,

James

If you have upgraded via GO or using DJI Assistant to firmware V01.00.0400, or V01.00.0300 and NOT used NLD to do so on or after 7/19/19 then you have a new "feature" in your firmware called Anti Rollback. You will know this if no matter what you try to do, NLD will not go past 15% when trying to downgrade firmware. NLD does a firmware module check and at 15%, the firmware flash is started. The actual firmware flash is only started after the 15% module check. With the "anti-rollback" firmware from DJI, NLD stops at 15% and will not actually start the firmware flash.

DJI has silently changed their V01.00.0400 and .0300 firmware and introduced a previously unused anti-rollback feature - WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE!!!!

This means that they don't want you using NLD to downgrade your firmware to V01.00.0100, likely as this is a known exploited firmware!

Currently, trying to use NLD in this situation means a downgrade will appear "stuck" at 15%, and never kick off the firmware flash. Until we can "fix" this DJI problem, you will not be able to get to V01.00.0100. Once we have a solution, we will announce it on our NLD homepage.

If you have upgraded via NLD to 01.00.0400, you will be fine and able to continue to use NLD to downgrade your firmware, the version we offer for re-flash is clean and doesn't have this "lock feature" enabled. This is stock DJI firmware, but we downloaded the "clean" version before the silent update.

For future reference. DO NOT USE DJI ASSISTANT!! OR UPGRADE FIRMWARE VIA THE GO APP!! The DJI GO app connects directly to DJI and downloads firmware from DJI.

I have read the entire user guide and when I remove the NFZ it says "firing magic bullet, blah blah blah" reboots and then I walk outside to try it and it doesn't work. I'm reflashing the firmware now, but you can bet if it doesnt work this time I'll be disputing the charges for this software with my bank.
