1.9 - The Holy Grail of Releases

Hi all, yes, thats a pretty bold title, but trust us when we say this is what you have all been waiting for. We are about ready to drop a bombshell ;)

As hundreds of people in the support system have been reminding us, yesterday was the last day of March and we still haven't dropped the M2 release. That's all about to change.

There is going to be a HUGE update to NLD within the next 48 hrs, hopefully sooner.

Anti rollback on any firmware is totally defeated. We have found a brand new method that allows a straight flash from any firmware, to any other firmware without the step to intermediate ones. This, combined with the new flashing system should ensure a 100% complete flash on any bird to any compatible firmware. Not even DJI does this!

Oh, speaking of flashing and downgrading, this one is huge. For the first time ever, firmware flashing with NLD will be 100% FREE!! This is a great win for the community and of course allows new NLD customers to test out one aspect of our software before the commit to purchasing the full version, we hope you enjoy this change.

Lastly, full details of exactly what is included in adding the Mavic 2 to our platform will come with the release notes, but trust us, this will have been worth the wait!

Let us tie up a couple of loose ends, get some final testing in and look for the new update coming to your NLD very soon.

PS, no, this is NOT an April fools joke!

Congrats on Your New release.  I was wondering if any buddy was aware of the distance barrier that there is On the M2  and also it’s on the M1. We fly Modded Mavic’s for Long Distance Fly for Fun. When you reach 59,000ft   From the controller the aircraft disconnects.  I have chatted with a few people that suspect it might be in the code of the controller not sure.  If that’s something you guys could look into that would be greatly appreciated.  With the P3 and the P4  we never had this problem.  Only the release of the Mavic’s with the OcuSyuc. The lightbrige never had this problem.

regardless of any mavic 2 features, this is a huge step in the right direction. i own unused nld licenses, but sincerely appreciate that it can be anyone's firmware flashing tool.

2019/4/4 5:52
You guys do very good job on hacking drones, but deadlines are really not your thing, are they? :)
2019/4/4 6:13
Time is up?
2019/4/4 6:35
48 hours later 🤣
2019/4/4 7:14
april fools!   48 hours * 2 later = KEK!
2019/4/4 7:38
48 hours. BwaHAHAHAHAHA! That's come and gone. NLD has never, ever, ever released anything remotely close to when they said they would.
2019/4/4 7:48
"There is going to be a HUGE update to NLD within the next 48 hrs, hopefully sooner."

Did you mean 480 hours?
You may want to stop giving yourself deadlines that you are unable to meet. Releasing a quality finished product is far more important than a deadline or catering to the impatient.

Thanks for the hard work! Excited to see the finished product when it is ready.
2019/4/4 8:07
tick tock tick tock.... lol sorry just being funny. I understand it's a lot work and we all want it to be as near issue-free. Keep us posted. My finger nails can't get any lower and my Mavic 2 is tired of being a paper weight.
2019/4/4 8:40
So guys, where is the new software?
2019/4/4 8:40
Just bought, can´t wait!!!
2019/4/4 10:31
Its been 48 hours :)  Still waiting
2019/4/4 11:38
48h? time out. Bullshit from NLD, again...
2019/4/4 11:50
Was a mistake, should be called 84 hours ;-)
2019/4/4 13:16
C'mon guys... give the dev some time!!!
2019/4/4 13:24
HAH! Super troll! April fools!!!
2019/4/4 17:07
Looks like April fool.
2019/4/4 17:21
Holy s**t there's some impatient c**ts in this comments section. I'd rather it be polished and complete then rushed just to cater to the overly entitled. Keep up the great work! can't wait to finally unlock my M2.
2019/4/4 20:57
Where ???
2019/4/5 9:10
Greetings from Kuwait!
Please don't rush things, Peacefully ignore the impatient users here, We care about the effort you Gentlemen put in your Application so it can work perfectly without issues, Thanks to everyone who contributed on this awesome project of yours!
2019/4/5 10:06
That was april fools joke. lol
2019/4/5 12:11
Only impatient because they announced 48 hours. I wonder what the record is for the amount of times someone checks the site to see if it has been released. Me personally I have the page open all day and just refresh it :)
2019/4/5 16:21
I know they are working hard but why say 48 hours and then no further news, letting us know how things are progressing would be nice,
2019/4/5 17:02
Mmmmmmm !!!!
2019/4/5 21:18
Not new to keep seeing missed deadline. I wonder in their day jobs they missed deadlines daily too? Lol
2019/4/6 3:39
Guys, try and appreciate what the team are trying to give you and have a little patience.

Think back to when the MP1 hit the market and we had to bow to the demands of DJI, with their crap no-fly zones and all the other glitches in their damn software.

Would you rather have a piece of software that does exactly what it says on the label, or a buggy piece of crap that potentially you will lose your drone with.

The team have put in a massive amount of time on trying to get this release out.   Bear in mind they have families and they have a day job to do to put food on the table.  What they do is just a side line to try and help us get our drones the way we want them.

Instead of given them a hard time and taking the  pi$$ all the time, have a little patience.

If you cannot be patient and just want to have a go at the devs, then I suggest you go find another product that will unlock your birds, remove the NFZ, give you full access to the system, and 100's of more tweaks............ Oh crap...... I forgot...... THERE IS NOBODY ELSE..... So lets all behave... "good things come to those who wait"......

End of sermon.
2019/4/6 6:47
Hey DETLEV not even 84 Hrs. We are now up to 120 Hrs
2019/4/6 7:57
How hard is it for the moderator of this site to just give an update saying we are running into issues which is the reason for the delay? They went from we wont be posting anymore updates back in March to 24-48 hours release incoming. Who does this?

This isnt some charity this is a business that sells a product. They gave a firm timeline and missed that timeline. Any reputable business would have addressed this by now.

Ive been patiently waiting since this post but it appears to be either a hoax or just another example of incompetent communication from this company.
2019/4/6 9:44
Here here
2019/4/6 10:48
Can't wait, hopefully  I will get "xmas" sooner and my wishes will be granted for the MP1...
-Kill the "LIGHTS"
-Mixed Firmware
Boy wouldn't that be GREATTTT!!
2019/4/6 13:17
I love Graemes comments. Said it perfectly!

Some people really should learn that development requires a strick release plan, every new fix has the potential to cause other things to break. Each new commit to the code branch requires validation, if they don't follow this path, you will probably get a flying brick that goes where ever it wants without giving a shit about what your two meat sticks tell it.

So, stop being so uneducated and be patient.
2019/4/6 14:36
I'm sure it's hard to code. Life is hard. That said, trust is fragile. Do what you say you're going to do. If you don't, you become untrustworthy. Don't make promises you can't keep.
2019/4/6 16:32
😜🤘
2019/4/7 0:09
And as always, I love you all.
I should make some decals and send them to those great NLD workers.

Keep up the great work
2019/4/7 0:22
Well,
Not sweating the delay is the brief updates we get on how awesome it will be is enough for me.
Therapy Tomorrow but once I get home if able to after the hunny do list. My I2 is getting a costume Skin job.
Carbon fiber wrap:
Mystic - main
Red - Right
Green - Left

Underlay reflective:
Blue - Main

This I2 is going to streak through the sky looking like Tron on Crack with NLD 1.9
2019/4/7 6:36
Great, can't wait
2019/4/7 13:25
I hope you will come with a nice hack for the mavic 2 soon. Im wanna buy one but Im waiting for the hack first. I dont want a drone controlled by DJI.
2019/4/7 19:51
Ok,
I am going to jump into the fray.  Please be patient.  It will be so worth your wait.  Yes we missed the deadline.  No, this was no April fools joke, and those who think it is...bwahahahahaha...NOPE.  This is a total REWRITE of NLD.  Huge update, so it's not just M2 support added.
Thank you to those who spend the time to not just complain, but understand what it takes to put this together.
We want NLD to be second to none, and not just the only program on earth that can do what we do.  If it were easy, wouldn't you find alternatives out there?  We are not sitting around doing nothing.  We want the release as much as you guys do!  Thank you for your patience and putting your drones in our hands.  We won't let you down.

-Quad808
2019/4/7 20:53
Thanks Quad808.

I know the issues of coding as do many others. I don't usually comment, but some people were being a little bit rude and I felt obliged to say something.

When your ready my friends. Just be sure to send an email to the mailing list so we all know when it's up there and live.

Thanks again for being so thorough.
2019/4/8 6:12
Quad808 You Are The Man Thx For The Update Man If IT Takes Longer  Then Planed  Believe Me It Will Be Worth The Wait For  Some People Take Things For Granite Sometimes What If No NLD  Where Would We Be Today . A BEAUTIFUL  PIECE OF ART  Take Patience Thanks For What You Are Doing Keep it up AND THANKS MR QUAD808
2019/4/8 12:05
also if can work on something like this i live here in Florida and they have a python problem and a big one they are using drones to find theses snakes, they just found one of the biggest pythons couple of days ago just shy of 18 feet, maybe there is a way to program the drone to locate one south Florida water management. also great job it takes alot of time
2019/4/8 13:02
You know people have to calm down.  These dev's do this in their free time and they really don't have to do this if they chose not too.  So many you people  just have to move on and look elsewhere.  These guys have been a very big help and need to be appreciated,  remember "they don't have to do this". I am sure they have run into some gliches and I would rather wait to get the best and most complete offering they have to offer us.
Keep up the GREAT work guys @ NLD's and stay true to the cause "A free bird is a happy bird'! "
2019/4/8 17:59
Thanks guys for all the hard work , we would have nothing without u
2019/4/9 14:56
Thank you for all the hard work. I'm sure it's going to be incredible! Could we get an update on the status? If you were going to release it a week ago, you must be close to wrapping thing up. Right?
2019/4/10 5:01
-Quad808. Thank you for all the hard work and the amazing product you guys are making. Im sure the new update is going to be incredible! Could we get a status update? If you guys were planning on releasing it over a week ago, you must be close to wrapping it up, right? Are you thinking another couple of days? Weeks? Months?
2019/4/10 10:43
I want it bad,  but hey take your time and do it right
2019/4/11 8:06
Even if it was an April fools joke, it is exciting news.  Looking forward to the updates guys!  Keep up the great work.
2019/4/11 14:31
Sweet!  I've been waiting for this for a long time...
2019/4/12 6:23
Everyone asking for a status update, so here goes. Im not making a separate blog post for this.
We 10000% intended, as always, to meet the release goal that we set, however as you have all figured out, we ran into some issues (not unexpected really considering the wholesale change that.s happened to NLD and the extra secret sauce that is being added in.

Remember, M2 support is an entirely different ballgame. On almost every other drone, there was already an established base of hacks and methods we could use and (with the authors permission) integrate into NLD. With the M2, we ARE the original authors and so it takes a little extra time.

I cannot go into what issues causing the delays were. But we are past them now and well on the way to finishing. Again, im not going to be giving an ETA for a release, because if our internal goal slips again, we will be back at square one with the comments seen here.

As everyone else has said, NLD is the only app of its kind in existence, and very shortly will be the only MP2 modding app in the world. You do not understand the amount of ridiculous long hours over months that have gone into this. But understand this. When it drops, you will all love it. It will ACTUALLY work and theirs many enhancements that we have added that we haven't even talked about yet baked into this release.

Remember also, this is a _development_ blog. What do you want from us? To keep you updated with the very latest stuff were working on with the understanding that the dates, times and plans that we supply are flexible as they depend on many internal factors. Or, we tell you nothing until the release drops so we cant "miss" any deadlines? Why don't you tell me... https://www.strawpoll.me/17800905

2019/4/12 8:37
Nice work guys. I believe it is worth to wait patiently the release!
2019/4/12 13:32
Check everyday just for the mp2 hack
2019/4/13 0:03
@CS2000 , your response is much appreciated. Looking forward to NLD update "1.9".
2019/4/13 0:39
I got no f***** finger nails left.

Looking forward to the release.
2019/4/13 1:00
do you have the BREXIT version?
2019/4/13 4:44
Thanks for all you are doing. This sounds like it will be awesome when it’s finally released
2019/4/13 8:54
Status report?
2019/4/13 17:44
Thanks @CS2000. We appreciate your work, and here's to hopefully getting it out soon.
2019/4/13 22:04
Hello, World, CS2000
Thanks for taking the time to write us here again with an update.
Aldo, thanks for the straw pull, it's really nice to be heard.

Might I add a 3rd option to updates of updates option? The problem as I see it, is that there are too many unreasonable people who expect your word as a development team to be set in stone but when it slips, they cry like bitches.

Instead, when you make a blog post and drop a date on it for a release. Maybe have a couple of lines dedicated to showing us numbers that reflect the release status.

An example would be :

Remain features to complete = 3
Bugs Blocking = 4
Slip too date = 01/01/2020

Instead of having to write a long, time consuming post to update people in the comments, you simply update the original blog with new numbers once a week.

This would go a long was to silencing the little millennial bitches that complain because of their over inflated sense of entitlement.

Thanks for the information and hope you see some potential in my options...
2019/4/14 5:03
@Jevon - Thanks for the suggestion. Hopefully when 1.9 is out, we can look at doing something like you suggested.

Everyone else that does understand, as has been said before, we hugely appreciate your patience and understanding!

2019/4/14 6:50
REALITY CHECK for everyone here!!!
You know ALL you people have no clue who are asking for this to be rushed "from development/testing/work rounds/can this be done"  AND who are offering ideas to help them "which is a great thing".
The hard cold facts...
1.) "THEY" don't have to do this for anyone
2.) The work that goes into this is amazing and "WE" should be thankful that people are willing t do this in their free time and push the "DRONE" to the MAX from both a Software and Hardware perspective.
AND this is by far the biggest thing "WE" all should be watching out for
3.) Tomorrow the FAA issues NEW Drone laws, yes tomorrow. These laws will be far reaching in the fact that "Government/Corporate America" really want to shoot them down OR control them so much that it will be pointless to buy or fly. Topics that will be covered range from what manufactures can put into to drone technology "both software as well as hardware" from a consumer stand point and how they will operate and where, night flying...etc. They are also going to make the fines/penalties  stiffer the talk is about in many forums.  Gone are the days of the version of Mavics which were modded "THEY" "Government/Corporate America" don't want this ability in the hands of people, more for a security concern then anything else. Name 1 time a "Drone" has killed anyone???
But yet "GUNS" do and we all see this around the world now and here in America there are many states WHERE you don't even have to registrar guns.
Again the control of the "drone" is more for security reasons and has no base in reality.
We should "ALL" watch what we say in any forums as again "THEY" have their people watching and reading everything and this is where "They" get almost all their information.
We should be thankful to these "guys & girls" who are willing to do this. As I believe NLD'z know the stakes as well as the possibilities of "Drones"
In closing I would like everyone to have these understanding.
-keep your business to your self..don't be sharing your life away out in the internet
-keep your mouth shut..the less people know about you, the better off you are
-be thankful that there are "guys and girls" who have the talent to do such things like NLD'z
2019/4/14 12:06
@ Jevon  Love your suggestions as well as your comments about the bitches.  Spot on.

To the nolimitdronez team, thank you guys for your tireless efforts to get this release wrapped up.  I live beside a National Park as well as a retired landing strip so your M2 hack can't come soon enough.  DJI makes great drones but fail miserably when it comes to getting NFZ restrictions right.  Combine that with the steep geography out here and associated problems with height restrictions, and it makes for a very muted flight experience.

Pre-purchased and ready to fly!

2019/4/15 2:31
I agree, that responses was just what everyone needed or at least most of us so thanks for that its greatly appreciated...Im gonna ride with NLD till the wheels fall off  so count me in ..
2019/4/15 6:18
@Jevon I love your idea of keeping us up to date. I dont think its the fact that the date slipped that is getting people upset. I think its the fact that NLD was completely silent about it till recently. For example: If I was expecting my new Drone to come in the mail on Monday, and it never show up and the tracking number status doesn't change. Then after two weeks and still no status of the package, I would be calling/emailing a lot of people trying to figure out whats going on. But if the status was updated saying its delayed because of a storm, I would be a lot more at ease. Thank you NLD for what you do, you guys are awesome. Just my thoughts

Posting again  as I was classed as guest.
2019/4/15 7:04
@Mark
Was thinking that it makes more sense to have an easy place to check for a status of the project, but what would be easier and quicker to implement for these guys in a way to avoid wasting time on things that can be done with a bit of duct tape and a match box.

There site has a blog, anyone who's a customer or fan would know to look there.

Simple and effective.

But one point I think is getting over looked (even in my last posts), people have paid them for something, and so there is a degree of owing for sure, but lets be real here, you know what your paying for, you know what kind of "company" your dealing with.

I will pay when its released, not before, it matters not as they will get the money and it does not change the way they develop it.  If I pay only to have the right to complain that its not there yet, then I would be a moronic, unrealistic Muppet.

If you paid in advance, knowing its not ready yet and then complain, I think you deserve to get what you want, a release as it stands at the time of your complaint.  Then go out and fly your drone and when it flys away or crashes into a tree or the ground or software crashes frequently, at least you can not complain about being made to wait...

You see where I am going with this...?
2019/4/15 7:27
Well Said Brian like your comment people need to be more patience and all of us need to count our luck stars
2019/4/15 10:49
@brian you deserve a beer for that comment! Spot on and hit the nail on the head
2019/4/15 14:00
Because I have not paid yet, I would like to ask, wait, I demand, a release date date!
Pmsl

But seriously, can I have a clue... Hehehe
2019/4/15 19:07
@Brian , today is when an NPRM and ANPRM commenting session is ending, not the sudden introduction of new law. In general, the topics they're asking about involve making operations less restrictive, not more. Actual rulemaking occurred last year during reauthorization - something you should probably be looking into.
2019/4/16 0:59
I have been with NLD since the original Mavic Pro. I have had so many bad patches from DJI that I could not stand it anymore. So I crossed over to NLD.
Never had an issue with my Mavic Pro after that. I in turn upgraded to I2 and so started the issues even with NLD.
I bricked a CS, DJI FW put my I2 into a almost uncontrollable spin and crash but reading NLD forums on rebooting on the fly saved my I2.

Waiting for 1.9 NLD and I will be here for as long as it takes because DJI and our Government does not give a damn about your expensive hobby.

NLD4LIFE
2019/4/16 11:50
Here is a BIG THANK YOU to the folks at NLD. Hopefully in short order, all of us with M2s can free our birds - NFZ, alt, speed, etc and fly them as meant to be.

Without the hard work, commitment, and dedication of those at the helm, we would be still stuck with the crap service and buggy shlock that DJI gives us.

Thank you to every single member of the NLD team for their efforts, and we look forward to some further updates to unlock more possibilities.
2019/4/17 2:23
@CS2000
A new FW for the M2 is around (1.00.0400). I guess avoiding this update for the moment is a good hint ?
2019/4/17 5:31
Really excited about the NLD MOD 1.9 ... for the Mavic 2 owners, here's some fresh news from the DJI's camp - today they've released the new v01.00.0400 update ... maybe postpone it until someone properly tests it and figures out what they blocked this time ... :D
2019/4/17 5:59
Yes, DO NOT update to 01.00.0400, obviously this is brand spanking new so we haven't tested on it yet. You're safe up to and including 01.00.0300 of course
